Value, Valence, Agreeableness
Value is a sense that you get from your total experience. In the concept of 'valence', the val component is the same as in value. Valence is a sense of 'agreeableness' with the moment itself. You agree with the moment if it feels ok, net of burdens. Think of a moment wherein, that you can be doing something that feels nice without guilt. Think of a different moment wherein, there is a heavy burden you feel like you can overcome. Think of a third moment wherein, that you feel like you should be doing exactly what you are doing that moment. In all of these situations, there is a sense of agreeableness with the moment and of net cooperation with whatever is happening, a sense of positive 'worth' and 'value' that makes the moment endurable and 'livable'.
Ask yourself... What is something nice that you could be doing without guilt? Your next question could be... What is something nice? If you think about it, 'nice' is a modest sense of value and agreeableness. Something nice is simply something that 'feels agreeable' in experience.
