Israel's Editorial Voice over the Middle East
It's happening again between State of Israel and Hamas. The victims are The Peoples of Israel and Palestine. Two metaphysical agents in violent dialogue mediated by rockets, a dialogue that takes, silences, and subdues aspirations to peace and harmony.
The news media reports IDF airstrikes over the Gaza Strip, allegedly over Hamas assets. A 12-story tower housing offices of foreign media (Al Jazeera, Associated Press) was surgically demolished on May 15th, 2021 by IDF. The building allegedly housed Hamas intelligence but no corroborating evidence or intelligence has been produced. Senior officials of Hamas were killed by IDF on separate airstrikes a few days before. The efforts by IDF to earn social media good-will by dunking on a vastly weaker combatant is food for thought.
The whole affair brings to mind the sabotage attack reportedly conducted by State of Israel earlier this year on an Iranian nuclear facility on April 2021 and the killing of Iranian general Mohammed Ali Allahdadi on 2015 by an IDF airstrike. It's as if the State of Israel had ‘deletion privileges’ over Palestinian territory and the greater Middle East. They exert an authentic editorial voice, a power to wipe out of existence specific people and buildings, power to disrupt any dynamic it doesn't approve of.
