Superstition, A Vanity of Consciousness
Beware!
It's 3 am in your neighborhood. You shouldn't be out this late, you want to go home. It's dark and the streets are wet, freshly engaged by rain. Everything is silent, there's no one else around. You start walking to your car, parked two doors away. As you approach, you look up. There's baby sounds coming from a window, completely dark. You can't recall if there was someone standing there but you remember a voice, it was singing. Then Whoosh! The window suddenly shuts... Did you scare them? You notice the window reopening slowly, you feel a chills through your body. It's very easy to cross into superstitious territory when you see something you can't explain.
Were you in danger? Better think not, there was no real sign! You can find comfort in knowing that this Reality of ours is very fertile, it could've been so many things. Wanting to make sense of everything is a vanity of consciousness. There was no meaning for you there, why worry about understanding?
