A miracle happens every day where the Hudson meets the sea: Millions of people wake up to continue writing the story of an urban icon that colors the dreams and yearnings of millions more around the globe, the city of New York. The legend goes back to the European invasion of the Americas, with a small trading post settled on the tip of Manhattan. In four hundred years, the small community blossomed into the iconic megacity we know and love, a place where everything can happen. New York City is today one of the foremost centers of human activity, a symbol of modernity and progress that invites reflection on the human condition.
